The guys start out with a little Nintendo news. The new play control versions of Metroid Prime 1 and 2 are being bundled with Metroid Prime 3 for $50 in August. This is a great deal, especially if you haven’t played any of them before.
Punch Out! is the game this week and as almost everyone, the POP crew is pretty into it. There are a re few complaints about how faithful the game is to the original, but with some things incorporated from Super Punch Out! and a great art style, the game ultimately doesn’t come off as lazy. They almost spoil the secret character, but Greg Ford puts a stop to that.
The DSi Ware store has been disappointing. Since it’s launch there haven’t been to many games released on the service and the games that have been released are mediocre at best. Phil is talking about one of the better ones this week though, ART STYLE: Pictobits. It sounds very unique and seems worth the 500 points/ $5 dollars.
If you missed it, we ran the Podcasters’ Favorite Podcasts feature with CJ last Thursday and will be having Greg Ford and Greg Sewart’s picks coming for this Thursday’s installment. Also, we get a nice shout-out at the beginning of this episode! Thanks guys!
This week the usual suspects discuss: Punch-Out!!, Raiden Fighters Aces, Dead Space, Zen Pinball, Demon’s Soul, Super Stardust HD, Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars, Peggle Dual Shot, Klonoa, ART STYLE: Pictobits, and Metroid Prime Trilogy, amongst other things.
Next Game Club game is Sly Cooper and the Thievious Raccoonus for the PlayStation 2 Computer Entertainment System. Used copies are available cheaply (five bucks) at Gamestop locations nationwide. Start playing now! We’ll be discussing the game NEXT WEEK on Episode 136.
