Another great episode of TWiT this week. It’s nice that Leo mixes up the group a lot and having Dvorak on the show is always a good thing.
If you haven’t heard about Wolfram Alpha yet Leo and the group talk about it this week. As they iterate time and time again, it is not a search engine. It’s purpose is to be able to provide statistical data for anything you are looking for. It is a first of its kind and while it isn’t quite there yet, it is a pretty amazing service in theory. GO check it out and you may be surprised at what it can do if you can figure out how to use it. There is also a 30 minute interview with Stephen Wolfram, the creator, at the end that is definitely worth a listen.
Craigslist continues to be in the news with there repositioning of “adult services” into their own category. It doesn’t really change any of the content that is available, but makes Craigslist seem more responsible. It’s still the wild west on there though so be careful.
If you have been receiving random phone calls telling you that “this is your second reminder that the warranty on your vehicle is about to expire,” please be smart and don’t give them any information. It is just a credit card number fishing attack. It is getting more widespread and the TWiT crew is not happy about it.
Wolfram Alpha, Pirate Bay DDo$, Crackho.com, Craigslist massages, Facebook boobies, and your car warranty has expired.
