Ugobe, and subsequently, the Pleo are gone. For those who are unaware Ugobe’s Pleo was a robotic dinosaur that was pretty organic in its motion and obviously a bit ahead of its time when it was released in 2007. This leads into a discussion on robots and robotics in general.
The new 3G Sidekick LX has been announced and will be widely available on May 13th. I looks to be a great upgrade for the Sidekick with an impressive 3.2 inch, full VGA screen.
Windows 7 gets some bleak talk about the limitations placed on the lower end versions. The buzz is fairly good for Windows 7, but Microsoft’s imposed usage guidelines are proving to be a problem again.
It’s a damned shame Ugobe’s death means Pleo will go the way of the dinosaur, but as you’ll soon find out, it certainly won’t budge our deep love for robots. In cheerier news, elsewhere T-Mobile launched their first 3G Sidekick, while Bluetooth 3.0 + HS got official with fast 802.11 wireless transfers, and Microsoft’s Windows 7 Starter edition (namely, it’s three app cap) came home to roost.
