Peter and Ryan are talking aboutPalms announcement that they would be including PalmOS emulation in the Palm Pre via software called Classic. This would have had a lot more people up-in-arms of not for the fact that they had an outside company do the work so they could focus on webOS.
There is also talk of android going to non-smartphone devices. Android has been a lot slower to take off than many had hoped so this sounds great. Android will not be anything really relevant until it really gets out there and establishes itself as a viable platform for many kinds of devices.
The DroboPro gets covered here as well. There are many Drobo lovers out their, including us, but be aware this is robably not for you. This is a pro device in every way. Also of note, the ethernet port on the back is not a typical ethernet port in that itwill not work out of the box as a NAS. It is actually an iSCSI interface so unless you know this is for you, it probably isn’t.
We just missed the news on last week’s show, so this week we’ll be digging into Palm’s latest announcement: PalmOS emulation on the Pre’s new webOS via software called Classic. We’ve also got the dirt on T-Mobile’s supposed new Android-based tablet and home phone, hands-on impressions of the HTC snap, and thoughts on Acer’s AspireRevo nettop, the new DroboPro, and Sony’s impressive TG5V 1080p GPS camcorder.
