Welcome to the 3rd and likely final (and somewhat slurred) GDC Joystiq Podcast.
A lot of Kojima metaphors flying around. His presentation at GDC was about the evolution of the Metal Gear Solid series and he confirmed that there would be another game in the series and it was hinted that it would star Raiden. There will be more of a focus on melding Western and Eastern design philosophies with heavier use of software rather than hardware.
OnLive gets a small mention and then the guys move on to talking about the apparent coup by Infinity Ward to get away from the Call of Duty franchise by calling their sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to just Modern Warfare 2. This is a huge power play by IW against their parent company Activision. This could get a little ugly folks.
It’s our third and (likely) final podcast from GDC and things are just getting stranger. Chris and Justin can’t help but name-dropping who they were eating dinner with, and they still can’t stop fighting about OnLive.
If you’ve braved the first two editions, it’s time to step up to the plate and finish this thing.
