Player One Podcast | Episode 126 – Grow some gonads

by Jonathan Downin in GamesMarch 23rd, 2009 @ 1:49 am

Player One PodcastOff the top here an interesting topic of how we buy games has changed comes up.  The guys put forth a few theories; one of the most intriguing being that the multiplayer components of games have cause us to purchase these games sooner and makes it very hard to get into these games further into their life-cycles.

Greg Sewart reveals that he has made a decision that he will try to buy all multiplatform games on the PS3 due to the 360 just being prone to breaking.  This is definitely an understandable viewpoint, especially considering the recent E74 problems that have been revealed.

The requisite Resident Evil 5 talk happens on this one.  Greg Ford points out how he feels the pacing is really great, but then goes on to say how the controls just don’t work overall.  Add another one to the list of people who have problems with the controls.

This week! Format change! We switch things up a bit and do feedback (including playing a voicemail line call–GASP!), news and the tried-and-true What’cha Been Playing segment. Games we talk about include Resident Evil 5, Killzone 2, Street Fighter IV, Gears of War 2, Metal Gear Solid Touch, Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure, Phantasy Star Portable, Final Fantasy III DS and Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars.
