Engadget Podcast 137 – 03.13.2009

by Jonathan Downin in TechMarch 13th, 2009 @ 4:19 pm

Engadget PodcastJoshua Topolsky was on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Monday and got to handle the Palm Pre.  If you have been listening to the Engadget Podcast since CES you know he is pretty up on the device and he seems even more excited about it now.  It looks very good and Palm’s ability to get it out the door in a timely manner is the main issue at this point.

Apple has announced an event for March 17th where they will cover a big update of the iPhone OS.  There is not much known about what will be included in the 3.0 update, but there are rumors swirling around about MMS and a few other features.  Hopefully there will be some big evolutions to how things work and the guys have some things to say about it.

The new iPod shuffle is talked about near the end here.  Paul got one and he seems to be pretty conflicted, if not annoyed, about it.

When not hobnobbing with Jimmy Fallon and unreleased Palm devices, Joshua likes to sit down with salt-of-the-earth folks like Nilay and Paul to chat up the week’s gadget news and recount the tales from his jet-setting lifestyle. It was a fairly slow week overall, so the guys got some time to answer a reader question and let their indomitable personalities shine through. We’re not going to lie, it’s some pretty awesome stuff.
