After many weeks of talking about it, Ryan finally has the Kindle and presents his hands-on experiences here. Ryan has traditionally been pretty keen on the Kindle where as Peter is not quite as enamored. The consensus here is that the price point is just too high.
Windows 7 is another big topic this week. The big news is that it has been pushed to 2010 according to a comment made by Steve Ballmer. With almost everyone, including the gdgt guys, liking it and feeling that it’s already pretty polished, that sounds like a long way away. The theory thrown out here is that since people are living in their browsers more and more, the operating system you run is becoming somewhat inconsequential.

This week it’s all about the hands-ons: we finally snagged the Kindle 2, tested it in our study (while sipping some fine port wine), and we’ve got the low-down on how it fares compared to its predecessor. We also spent a little quality time with the Windows 7 beta (so far so good), and T-Mobile’s new Samsung Memoir, while issuing a quick check-in on digital cameras with analog controls (like Samsung’s new TL320), as well as the new nefarious goings-on of Xbox Live DoS attacks.
