Bill Gates releasing mosquitoes into the audience at the TED conference is the craziest thing I have heard all week. I understand that he wanted to make a point and raise awareness about malaria, but that is FAR from the best way to do it. As John C Dvorak put it, “That was a dick move.”
I have talked about it a lot in many posts recently, but the Kindle 2 is becoming more of a reality day by day. Looks slick and really, really thin.
The topic of print media dying has been a popular talking point for more than two years now. With the recent closing of EGM and many other closures, this seems to be becoming a reality. I will be sad to see electronic versions really take over, but it may just be sentimentality as I almost never buy magazines anymore. Is the Kindle a first step in the right direction or a sad signal of the inevitable coming death of physical print media?
Bill Gates stings TED, Nielsen reply all, newspapers choking, new Kindle, Guitar Hero kid, and more.
