After doing their first first gdgt live coverage, Ryan and Peter are talking about Macworld and CES this week. The guys seem to be on the fence about the built-in, non-removable battery of the new MacBook Pro.
Lot’s of talk about netbooks and ultra-portables here, which everyone loves. The new Sony Viao P looks very interesting, but quite expensive. I think everyone is still waiting for the perfect form factor netbook to show up.
Oh, and there’s a mention of the possibility (or not) 17″ MacBook Pro’s matte screen trickling down.
Macworld and CES are officially under way, but this year’s shows are already shaping up to be relatively slow. Phil’s Macworld keynote was expectedly low-key, carrying the new 17-inch MacBook Pro and an entirely DRM-free iTunes catalog — but no revamped Mac mini or iMac. The run-up to CES has been equally mellow, too, with only a handful of noteworthy products being shown around so far, including Sony’s new Vaio P and X1000 touchscreen media player, a (future) Eee PC Tablet, and SDXC — the memory card format we’ll all be using for years into the future. We’ll be back soon to talk about the rest of the show, but in the mean time make sure you check out our live Palm coverage!
